Product description : VOLONTAIRE MARIE + MARIE JEANNE twin set
VOLONTAIRE MARIE + MARIE JEANNE twin set
Traditional trawler built by the ANCIENS CHANTIERS DUBIGEON (ACD) of Nantes, Le VOLONTAIRE (SM767) was launched in February 1950.
She was armed by the ASSOCIATION DES CHALUTIERS MALOUINS, with SAINT-MALO as her home port. MARIE JEANNE was her sister ship whose home port was CONCARNEAU.
Very modern for its time, it was equipped with a BW (Burmeister and Wain) diesel engine of 1100 HP.
Planned at the time of its construction to fish from both sides, it was modified by removing the trawl booms on the port side.
Decommissioned in the early 1970s, it was scrapped in Bilbao (Spain) in March 1973.
